3 Reasons the 80s Were Embarrassing:

  • Granted, the 1980s rocked. Some of the greatest rock bands ever either started or flourished in the 1980s: U2, R.E.M., The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Guns and Roses, Metallica, the Replacements, New Order, the Cars, the Clash, the Jesus and Mary Chain, etc., etc.

But I have some issues with your "three that rocked" and "three embarrasing."

Paula Abdul rocked? Yeah, and so did NKOTB. And you may not appreciate Weird Al's humor, but Nirvana, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Mark Knopfler, Devo and the Police - just to name a few - all did. They agreed that having their music spoofed by Weird Al was the ultimate sign that they'd made it.

And I like the song "Cruel Summer." It was on the Karate Kid soundtrack. Beats spaced-out nut case Paula Abdul's song any day!

Enjoy your wedding! Sorry I couldn't make it.
